The micro-ATX form factor of the PRIME A320M-A can support up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM over four dual-channel slots, or 16GB per slot. Ryzen processors can support memory speeds of 3200 (OC), 2933 (OC), 2666, 2400, and 2133 MHz ECC and non-ECC unbuffered memory, while A-Series and Athlon processors support speeds of 2400 and 2133 MHz non-ECC unbuffered memory. Ryzen processors also support up to four SATA III 6 Gb/s ports with compatibility for RAID 0 and 1, while A-Series and Athlon processors support two SATA III 6 Gb/s ports. All processor types also support one M.2 Socket 3, with M key, type 2242, 2260, and 2280 for both SATA and PCIe drives. While Ryzen processors support PCIe 3.0 x4, A-Series and Athlon processors only support PCIe 3.0 x2.
There are also a total of four USB 3.0 Type-A ports (back panel), two USB 3.0 ports (mid-board), two USB 2.0 Type-A ports (back panel), and two USB 2.0 connectors that support an additional four USB 2.0 ports (mid-board). For those looking to expand their system using PCIe, there are two PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. Additionally, Ryzen processors support one PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slot (x16 mode) and A-Series & Athlon processors support one PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slot (x8 mode).
For delivering sharp, clear graphics, this motherboard supports AMD Radeon R Series Graphics in the 7th Generation A-Series APU with HDMI 1.4b, DVI-D, and VGA outputs. HDMI 1.4b supports a maximum resolution of 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz or 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz, and both DVI-D and VGA support a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz. Integrated graphics has access to up to 2048MB of shared memory and users who don't opt for A-Series processors with integrated graphics will need to purchase a compatible dedicated GPU of their choice.
Using the 8-Channel Realtek ALC887 HD audio codec, the PRIME A320M-A can support audio with higher fidelity than standard controllers. Audio can also be output using the integrated three audio outputs or S/PDIF output.
